Sue
Smith, M.Div., M.S.W.
Sue serves as the Executive Director of LUCHA Ministries,
Inc. In this position, Sue coordinates the organization’s
projects and services and oversees its financial operation.
She chairs LUCHA Ministries Board of Directors. Additionally,
Sue is involved in social service and counseling ministries. Sue is a native of Arkansas and served with her family
as a Baptist missionary in Costa Rica from 1987-1999.
She received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita
Baptist University in 1981, the Master of Divinity degree
from Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond in 2004,
and the Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth
University in 2004. She is currently enrolled in the
Doctor of Ministry program at Baptist Theological Seminary
at Richmond. Sue is employed by the Virginia Baptist
Mission Board of the Baptist General Association of Virginia.
She is also an Affiliate Missionary with the Cooperative
Baptist Fellowship.

Greg
Smith, Ph.D.
Greg serves as Administrative Coordinator for LUCHA Ministries,
Inc. In this role, Greg provides administrative, financial
and programming oversight for LUCHA Ministries, under
the direction of the Executive Director and in cooperation
with the organization's coordinators and ministry team.
In addition, he assists in leading training conferences
for English-speaking groups on Latin American culture
and customs. An ordained Baptist minister, Greg also
leads in networking with area Latino and non-Latino churches.
Greg is from Arkansas and spent 12 years with his family
as a Baptist missionary in Costa Rica. Greg holds degrees
from Ouachita Baptist University (Bachelor of Arts, 1981),
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity,
1984; Master of Arts in Christian Education, 1985), and
Asbury Theological Seminary (Master of Theology, 1994;
Doctor of Philosophy, 2004). Greg is employed by the
Virginia Baptist Mission Board of the Baptist General
Association of Virginia. He is also an Affiliate Missionary
with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

Victor
Gómez,
M.Div., Th.M.
Victor serves as a coordinator and board member of LUCHA
Ministries, Inc. in support of its social, spiritual
and community development ministries. As a native of
Mexico City, Mexico, Victor helps to ensure that the
programs and services of LUCHA Ministries are culturally
relevant and appropriate to the Latino context in Virginia.
Victor is a graduate of Shenandoah University with the
Bachelor of Arts degree (1997) and Emory University with
the Master of Divinity degree (2001), and Columbia Theological
Seminary with the Master of Theology degree (2006). He
is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program
at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Commissioned
as a clergy in the United Methodist Church, since January
2006 Victor has been employed by the Virginia Council
of Churches as the Executive Director of Rural Family
Development.

Heather
Gómez,
B.A.
Heather serves as a coordinator and board member of LUCHA
Ministries, Inc. She networks with community partners
to provide support for the organization’s services
and programs. Heather also brings her expertise in
refugee and resettlement ministry to bear on meeting
the needs of Fredericksburg’s immigrant population.
A native of Virginia, Heather holds the Bachelor of
Arts degree in International Relations from the College
of William and Mary (1996). She is employed by the Virginia
Council of Churches Refugee Resettlement Program as a
Pre-employment Training Instructor.
